Alan Wake’s ‘The Writer’ add-on dated for next month

“The Signal” add-on for Alan Wake was compelling. It expanded on some of the concepts from the on-disc content and its heightened difficulty kept the adrenaline flowing. That said, it was a free download for most of us; our expectations were adjusted accordingly.

The second — and final, as it turns out — add-on for Alan Wake, “The Writer,” has been marked for an October 12 release at $7. I’m hopeful that it will answer some questions without adding even more confusion to the story, or at least end on a sort of meaningful way.

We’ll see, though. I’m fully expecting some huge cliffhanger. Oh, and I hope you guys liked shining light on floating words.
