When Nick Chester saw this story, he suggested we pre-write and queue up stories for when the United Arab Emirates bans Fallout: New Vegas and Call of Duty: Black Ops as well. To say that the UAE is predictable in its ban-happy chicanery is putting it lightly.
Dead Rising 2 is the latest game to be blocked by UAE’s National Media Council. Violence, gambling and nudity were the main causes of distress, not to mention the game’s best selling points. The presence of gambling was also thrown in as a negative, just for good measure.
Expect this ban to simply make criminals of generally honest citizens when they pirate it. Like always.
