You don’t say: Pokemon Black/White are a success in Japan

Recommended Videos

The number of pre-orders for Pokemon Black and White in Japan was pretty crazy, but they’ve got nothing on the amount of copies sold in the first week: 2.55 million.

In fact, The Pokemon Company International called them the “fastest-selling DS games ever in Japan over the first week of sales.” Just when you’re starting to think the formula has gone unchanged for too long, they switch up the design in a few key areas and it pays off big time.

For now, I’ll remain infinitely jealous that Jonathan Holmes has a copy and continue watching YouTube clips produced by teens who don’t understand a word of Japanese. Can it be spring 2011 yet?
