Capcom sales dropped, but profit is up 58%

The latest financials for Capcom show that sales are down from a lack of big releases for this first quarter. Or, not enough of you bought Resident Evil: The Mercenaries on 3DS. Whatever it was, there was a 56.9 percent drop in sales of games for the Big C, down from $190 million to $82 million, says GamesIndustry.

While sales were down, profits were way up — 58.2 percent up. Their mobile department alone was up almost 80 percent in sales and 362.2 percent in operating income. GI says that this growth can be attributed to mobile games Smurf Village and Zombie Cafe. Smurf Village, folks. Who needs Mega Man?
