Double Dragon II arcade remake coming to Xbox Live Arcade

There’s a “remake” of Double Dragon II coming to Xbox Live Arcade this year, courtesy of the Korean studio, Barunsun Interactive. It’s being called Double Dragon: Wander of the Dragon, because the sequels original title, The Revenge, is so 80s. Now, before I tell you anything else about this, go ahead and watch the trailer.

Okay… are we good?

Barunsun has ditched the 2D sprite visuals, instead opting to completely re-imagine the game from the ground up with 3D character models and a new fighting system. It’s also decided to re-design all of the game’s characters, including its iconic enemies.

So what’s the same? Well, the game appears to follow the story of the arcade version of the sequel, which finds love interest Marian getting gunned-down by thugs before the game even begins. The 1200 MS Point Wander of the Dragon adds a four-player versus mode to the mix, a Survival mode, and co-op support.

Co-Optimus has a full preview of the game, which it says will be launching later this year. I’m just gonna leave this here
