Want to get your hands on the new Tribes game first? You can at this year’s QuakeCon.

Developer Hi-Rez Studios has said that new game Tribes: Ascend will be making an appearance at this year’s QuakeCon. Playable. The game will be playable by the public for the first time at the August 4-7 event in Dallas, Texas.

“QuakeCon has been called the Woodstock of gaming and we’re thrilled to introduce Tribes: Ascend at this show,” said Todd Harris, COO of Hi-Rez Studios. “QuakeCon has always delivered exceptional, competitive multiplayer gaming for free; and that’s our mission with Tribes: Ascend.”

GamePro says that attendees will have a chance to win a key to the Tribes: Ascend closed beta. If you’re an old Tribes fan (and yes, you’re old), you should definitely follow up on this.
