PSN/XBLA shooter Nexuiz powered by CryENGINE 3

Nexuiz may be a bit of a silly name for a game (“Nexuiz” is apparently a series of battle arenas in the game’s universe), but damned if it’s not going to at least look good. Developer IllFonic has revealed that the upcoming digital download title will be the first of its kind to be powered by Crytek’s CryENGINE 3.

Set for release on Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network this winter, Nexuiz is a high intensity arena first-person shooter, that seems to take more than a few cues from games like Unreal Tournament. The game will feature a mutator system, with players unlocking new mutators as they progress through the ranks.

Want to see the game in action? Make sure you’re at PAX Prime in Seattle this October (oops!) September; IllFonic will be bringing Nexuiz to the event for a public showing.
