When I saw Gran Turismo 5 in its near-finished form at E3, Polyphony Digital’s Kazunori Yamauchi showed us a trailer that highlighted the special visual effects that went into the game’s engine. It was so lovely that I wished everyone could see it. SCEA has just released it, and now we have it for you.
In the above video you’ll see that the particles are lit so accurately that headlights will light up smoke and dust. The sun shining through the dusty afternoon haze is beautiful here. The lighting and reflections are insanely realistic as well. Toward the end of the trailer you’ll see collisions galore, complete with flipping cars and burnt rubber smoke.
