E3 10: Donkey Kong Country Returns = win

Recommended Videos

So I remember the days of the SNES Donkey Kong Country, and from what I can tell, Nintendo’s latest installment, Donkey Kong Country Returns simply reeks of nostalgia. Yeah, you smell that nostalgia? Good. Enjoy it.

The game is full of the mechanics we’ve come to know and love, and the art style, while being fresh and impressive, still brings me back to the old days. Returns is full of banana collecting, riding in mine carts, Diddy abusing DK, and of course, swinging from rope to rope all over the place.

I haven’t played a Donkey Kong game in years, so I’m looking forward to getting my hands on this one, even if I have to steal a Wii in order to play it. Above is some off-screen video of Chad playing the game on the E3 show floor; hit the jump to see one more off-screen video of actual gameplay.

You excited? I am.
