On June 29, Raven Software’s Singularity finally hits shelves. Here’s the best part — according to G4, if you buy it on the Xbox 360, you’ll get Prototype for free.
The deal, a mail-in offer, reminds me a bit of the “Buy Guitar Hero 5, get Guitar Hero Van Halen” for free deal Activision ran late last year. The difference here is that while Van Halen was of questionable quality, Prototype is by most accounts a pretty good game. Hell, our own Jim Sterling even thought it was “blatantly better than inFamous.”
Whether or not Sterling’s word is law is irrelevant, because free is free. It helps that, despite numerous delays, Singularity actually looks like it could be a solid, if not clever, first-person experience. No word on how long the offer will last after the game ships, so you’d just better buy it on day one. That’s exactly what Activision expects.
