Ubisoft got Ben Mor to direct this live-action short based on Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, with visual effects by Asylum of Terminator Salvation fame. I have never played a Ghost Recon game or even given much thought to the series, which is okay, because you don’t need to have done either of those things to enjoy this.
As per usual in the realm of live action, the video starts out kind of cool, dips into cheesy territory, then somehow manages to be both simultaneously. We don’t get many trailers like this for videogames, though, so I’d still recommend you give it a watch.
Even better, Hervé de Crécy and François Alaux, the people responsible for the phenomenal Oscar-winning animated short Logorama, will be creating a short film based upon Future Soldier sometime this year. Now that’s worth getting excited over.
