Imagine this: New Zelda would use Wii Vitality Sensor

We really know very little about Nintendo’s Vitality Sensor for Wii, outside of the fact that it made me facepalm at the the company’s E3 2009 press conference.

It’s expected that Nintendo will finally reveal just what the heck this thing could be used for at this year’s E3. But what if it were to be incorporated into the upcoming Legend of Zelda title for the Wii? According to Nintendo’s legendary designer Shigeru Miyamoto, anything’s possible.

“Whenever we are going to use any new device it is possible to expand the appeal to those who are new to the videogaming world,” he told NowGamer. “At the same time, however, it is also fun of ways in which we might apply that new technology to existing forms of gameplay, just like the way we are working on the new Legend of Zelda together with Wii Motion Plus.”

“So maybe you might like to ask me to incorporate the Vitality Sensor into Zelda, so that as you become more scared, the enemies become even tougher,” he suggests.

While a far cry from a confirmation (it sounds like he’s just spouting ideas off the top of his head), it’s an interesting suggestion as to how we might see the Vitality Sensor implemented into games we already love. Miyamoto, here’s a tip — you’re going to have to make those enemies really scary to get my blood pumping. Octoroks are just kinda silly.
