It’s been revealed that Dead or Alive/Ninja Gaiden creator Tomonobu Itagaki is not the head of Tokyo Vikings, as was originally believed. The outspoken developer who controversially left Tecmo in 2008 has joined Valhalla Game Studios as CTO, heading up the company’s game development division.
Valhalla was founded by another former Tecmo employee, Satoru Kanematsu. Despite the news, Itagaki is still refusing to shed light on any potential new projects. He has only stated that it may come to a range of consoles, and that he is interested in the PC market. He also wants it to double the sales of his most successful game to date.
“The highest selling of the games I’ve made is Dead or Alive 3,” he says. “It was 2 million. So, this time, I’d like to make a game that can be played by, at the very least, 4 million people. I mean, there are people who make games that sell 10 million units, so 4 million isn’t that reckless a number.”
He’s going to have to increase the boob sizes to dramatic levels if he wants his next game to sell that well.
