First localized screens from 3D Dot Game Heroes

Recommended Videos

We here at Destructoid are jazzed about 3D Dot Game Heroes. We were hoping for a localization when we first heard of it, and Atlus came through for us. They also came through today with the first batch of localized screenshots today.

I’m glad to see that they’re hard at work on the game, which is still set for a May 11th release on the PS3 for $39.99. Part of the game they’ve kind of put together for us is to have people guess what other games are being parodied in the screenshots they send along. While this pixel-ish action/adventure has its own story, it plays on games of gaming past, so well-versed gamers are supposed to get a kick out of the script.

Whether you get the references or not, this game looks fantastic. Retro gaming fan or not, I’d think just about anyone would by into this game’s distinct style. Of course, most of us here at Destructoid were sold already.
