The Madden NFL hype train has officially left the station, taking off last night during halftime of Super Bowl XLV.

EA Sports’ creative director Ian Cummings has posted a blog on the title, confirming the long-standing rumors that the game would feature American football. In all seriousness, Cummings has a lot to say about the new title, even though we’re months away from its release.

“As everyone knows, we are still a long way away from shipping the game, and undoubtedly some fans may be expecting major feature announcements even though we just aren’t at that point yet,” he writes.

So what you get is video of an onside kick and a blurry look at Madden NFL 12. Get hype.
