PlayStation Plus members get Double Fine’s Stacking free

If you were wondering “Why the hell am I paying Sony for PlayStation Plus?”, here’s your answer: because you get free games and stuff.

Next week, the deal’s at its sweetest: subscribers to Sony’s premiums PlayStation Network service will get Double Fine’s new title, Stacking, for free. That’s a $14.99 value, and that’s day-and-date with the game’s release.

“That’s nuts!” says Double Fine’s Tim Schafer, and I agree.

We’ll have a full review of Stacking (which hits both Xbox 360 and PS3 next week) when the game drops, so stay tuned for that. PS Plus members, don’t bother reading the review, just play the game and make up your own mind, okay?

Coming to PlayStation Plus: Free Day One Download of Stacking and Exlcusive Demos for Killzone 3 and Yakuza 4 [PlayStation Blog]
