Alan Wake tops TIME’s game of the year list

Recommended Videos

You can expect Red Dead Redemption to be at the top of nearly every “game of the year” list over the next few weeks, but it would seem that TIME magazine, of all places, is going against the grain. The revered publication has placed Alan Wake atop its top ten games of 2010.

Other surprising (but welcome) hits in TIME‘s top ten list were Angry Birds, Limbo and Super Meat Boy, all of which deserve praise. The rest of the picks were the games you would expect, but here’s the top ten list anyway if you’d like to argue about it:

  1. Alan Wake
  2. Angry Birds
  3. Red Dead Redemption
  4. Halo: Reach
  5. Super Mario Galaxy 2
  6. Limbo
  7. Super Meat Boy
  8. Super Street Fighter IV
  9. Starcraft II
  10. Mass Effect 2

Much respect to TIME for listing a mobile game, as well two of the year’s very best downloadable titles. It’s almost like the guys who put this list together know what the f*ck they’re talking about, which is pleasant.
