Voice chat for co-op is on Dead Nation’s horizon

Recommended Videos

Dead Nation is considerably more fun with a co-op partner, which is why some fans are so bummed out over the somewhat startling lack of online voice chat. Developer Housemarque is promising a swift patch to remedy this, going so far as to apologize for not including it from the outset.

To me, it sounds like they knew voice chat was a priority, but it was something that had to be cut in order to get the game out on time. Regrettable as that may be, it’s kind of a necessary reality when it comes to making stuff in a creative field.

It is nice to hear that they’re listening to feedback. I came away from Dead Nation with the exact same feelings Conrad expressed in his review, which is to say the core concept is there if you enjoy most dual-joystick shooters, but a handful of tweaks could really go a long way.
