Use Kinect on your PC to browse the web

Recommended Videos

Another day, another Kinect hack for the PC. A couple of people at the MIT Media Lab Fluid Interfaces Group created a way to let Javascript work with Kinect. You can use it to select links, scroll pages, scroll through a list of options and pan & zoom on any website.

All these tech demos are nice, but of course most of you won’t ever use it right now. That doesn’t mean the availabilty and the open source nature of the Kinect hacks won’t have any purpose. I can imagine that this will eventually lead to some great ways for people who lost a part of their arms to more easily browse websites in the future. You know, in case you don’t want to train yourself to do it using brainwaves.
