BioShock 2 PC getting DLC and patch after all

The whole “Sorry guys, but the PC version of BioShock 2 isn’t getting patched or the Minerva’s Den and Protector Trials add-ons” thing didn’t exactly go over very well. Shocking, I know. 2K Games’ Elizabeth Tobey has an update, and it’s a good one.

“We are a company of gamers making awesome experiences for gamers — and given the conversations we’ve had over the past two weeks, we’ve decided to go back and finish the PC patch and Protector Trials. Currently, we are patching the final bugs in these two pieces of content and then will submit everything to certification,” Tobey writes on the 2K forums. These will be free and should arrive sometime Decemberish.

“As of now, we are not certain how much longer [Minerva’s Den] would take to complete the project to our standards, but we have reallocated resources to work on completing the project so PC gamers can have this experience in Rapture along with 360 and PS3 owners.”

The forum post goes into why development on this content was initially halted — progress was too slow, and 2K wanted to move on to the next game, etc. — so hit that up if you’re interested in the full story.
