Capcom and Bandai have made a Resident Evil card game

I thought the practice of turning everything into a card game had gone by the wayside some years ago. Apparently, I was wrong, as there is going to be a Resident Evil “deck building game” released this November.

See, it’s called a “deck building game” because there’s a set collection of cards to choose from that all come in one box and you build an appropriate deck of them for use with play. Except of course when they decide to expand it or offer limited edition cards (such as the two you can get for pre-ordering the game). The game will have three rule sets to choose from, including a “Mercenaries” game not unlike the timed zombie shoot-outs you may already be familiar with from the series. The Resident Evil Deck Building Game will be releasing on November 19th and is expected to retail for $29.99.

I like these sorts of games. Or, rather, I did when I had friends who were still interested in the idea of specialty card games. I am fairly certain that my days of building decks of cards to pit against other decks of cards are long past. Could be fun for folks who are into that, though. It certainly would be a jump up from Yu-Gi-Oh! games.
