Digital download StarCraft II released after retail box, is $59.99

Nope, we don’t yet know when StarCraft II will be released; Blizzard says it will finally spill its guts in the coming weeks. But we now know that the digital download version of the game — which will be available via Battle.net — won’t be available until after the game hits retail.

This will most certainly sit well with brick and mortar retailers, who also get exclusive dibs on the jam-packed $99.99 Collector’s Edition which was revealed earlier today. The standard edition of the game will cost $59.99.

Has this changed the mind of anyone who had intended on downloading the game from Battle.net? Or was the lure of the Collector’s Edition enough to get you to leave the house and plop your money down in front of a cash register?
