Crackdown 2 getting video replays as DLC

Recommended Videos

Replay functionality is only truly worthwhile when A) you can pull off crazy stunts in-game or B) there are loads of laughter-inducing glitches. Anyone who has played Skate knows what I’m talking about here. The original Crackdown certainly falls under that first category, and I’m willing to bet Crackdown 2 won’t be any different.

Video replays “won’t be there at release, but that doesn’t mean we’re not going to work on it. We want to do it properly,” executive producer Peter Connolly told OXM.

People did a lot of things in the first game that we didn’t really know could be done. We’ve expanded it a bit now so we’re expecting them to do more with it this time,” he explains. “A replay system in a four-player co-op game is not a simple task, and we want to do it well.”

As you hopefully guessed, implementing such a feature would eat up a nice chunk of time, and the team only has so many people working to get Crackdown 2 out the door. Unless they have a hidden room with 100 monkeys working 100 computers to create this DLC, it’s safe to say Ruffian isn’t holding content back on purpose.
