Perhaps you won’t immediately recognize Limbo by name, but this small video clip from last year certainly had the memories rushing back to me. There’s a startling lack of information about this up and coming puzzle platformer from Denmark-based Playdead, but I suspect that’ll change soon enough.
Next week is GDC, after all, and Limbo was nominated for Technical Excellence as well as Excellence in Visual Art at this year’s Independent Games Festival. Anyway, the big news here is that it’s coming to consoles worldwide this year, with “a summer launch exclusively on Xbox LIVE Arcade.
Don’t you love it when games like this are able to hit consoles? Yeah, me too. My only concern is that small studio sizes usually mean awfully long waiting periods, but in the case of Limbo, summer isn’t too bad.
