The word earlier yesterday afternoon was that Warner Brothers Interactive handed out pink slips to several employees across a few of its studios, including FEAR 2 developer Monolith. Turns out that information was correct.

Shacknews is reporting that WBI has laid off around 25 employees across three different studios: Monolith, Snowblind Studios, and Surreal Software.

In a statement given to Shack, WBI said the layoffs were a result of WBI having “a few too many resources in certain functions …” The publisher expects to “see the studios grow” as each studio’s unannounced or other possible future projects become bigger than what they are now.
