Ten Minute Taste: Darksiders

Recommended Videos

I’ve spent a couple of hours or so with THQ and Vigil Games’ Darksiders. I can glean from these initial hours that the game is more than what I thought it was: a God of War clone with some Zelda spice. No, it appears that Darksiders is its own game with unique combat scenarios and satisfying dungeon-crawling sections. Neat, right?

I wish I could say more, but it would be unfair to the parties responsible. But the good news is that you can say whatever the hell you want, and you can get some fuel for your thoughts via this Ten Minute Taste.

You’ll notice that Darksiders starts rather slowly — the combos are done with just the X button, while the blocking mechanic isn’t even mentioned. All the same, this first bit of the game does show off Darksiders’ narrative, art direction, and even to some extent, scenario design. Kick back, check it out, and tell us what you think.
