Shenmue’s Nozomi cut from Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing

Aw, that’s too bad. But Shenmue fans have had enough with the teasing anyway. Racing as the girl from Shenmue in upcoming racing game Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing would have been far too painful.

She was a contender, though, says Executive Producer Steve Lycett, who also decided to cut another Sega favorite, the awesome Segata Sanshiro.

“We built Nozomi, but she won’t be in the game,” says Lycett. “She was going to ride on the back of Ryo’s bike, but there was the small issue of where does she go when the Forklift appears.”

She was cute, but overall pretty worthless. Not the racing type. Sanshiro would have rocked, though.
