Combat options — Dark Void has them. In yet another new video series, the Capcom crew shows off what the jetpack-strapped protagonist can choose to do when confronted with a massive Archon walker. In this specific case, the video presents two options: (1) junk up its obvious weak spots with basic aerial attacks or (2) blast them with the pew-pew might of a hijacked UFO. The choice seems clear, right?
Perhaps. But the on-foot — that is to say, the on-air — approach seems to hover more on the satisfying side. After crippling the Archon, people can get all God of War on it, tapping out QTEs while charging up the metallic spine. The climax to the events is pulling out the Archon’s squishy pilot and giving him a violent equivalent of the finger. Neat.
