Modern Warfare 2 PC specs: 3 GHz, 16 GB install? (Update)

Recommended Videos

There’s been a lot of hate going around in regards to the PC version of Modern Warfare 2. While it’s kind of my obligation to pay attention to that stuff, it’s gotten so out of hand that I’m trying to ignore the madness whenever humanely possible.

But enough of that — GameStop of all places divulged the minimum system requirements for the game to run:

  • OS: Windows Vista/XP
  • Processor: AMD 64 3200+ or Intel Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz or better
  • Memory: 16 GB free hard drive space / 512 MB RAM (XP) / 1 GB RAM (Vista)
  • Video Card: Shader 3.0 or better 256 MB nVidia Geforce 6600 GT / ATI Radeon 1600 XT or better
  • An Internet connection
  • You must have written at least one petition about dedicated servers

I generally dislike writing about system specs, because it’s hard not to come off as an elitist prick when doing so, but I must say these are pretty doable. You know it’s time to upgrade when your PC’s processor is the minimum requirement for a game. I wish I was joking here.
