Resistance 3 billboard on movie set reveals NYC setting

You can’t blame Sony for thinking about its marketing ahead of time, but I’m sure they probably didn’t expect this. 

 
Pictures taken from the set of the upcoming film action/sci-fi film Battle: Los Angeles reveal a billboard put up specifically for inclusion in the film. The story here (as you can see above) is that the billboard is question is advertising Resistance 3 for the PlayStation 3. You know, the obvious sequel that Sony and developer Insomniac Games haven’t even announced yet? That Resistance 3
 
Beyond confirming the probable existence of the game, the logo also reveals one of the game’s possible plot points — the Chimera has made its way to New York City. The logo clearly shows off the silhouette of a war torn NYC skyline, the most obvious landmark being the Statue of Liberty which sits on the “A.”
 
The alien invasion flick Battle: Los Angeles, which stars Michelle Rodriguez and Aaron Eckhart, is set for a February 2011 release… which is probably around the time Sony would have been ready to reveal the game. Oops.
