Resident Evil 4 Wii sales edge out GameCube version

Recommended Videos

Remember when there was only one version of Resident Evil 4? I played the sh*t out of my GameCube copy of Resident Evil 4, thinking it was the best thing ever at the time. When the PS2 version launched, I scoffed and continued playing the GameCube version. Now, when the Wii version was announced, and I heard that there was 1:1 gun aiming with the Wii Remote, I was definitely interested. Now I think that’s the best version.

The Wii version moves ahead of the GameCube version, according to Capcom’s million seller list, which was just updated. Even two years after the original had run its course, the Wii version has managed to move over 1.6 million copies. I can only imagine that many of those purchases were from people just like myself — people who loved the original.

Get this, though: Somehow the PlayStation 2 version has sold more than the Wii version, now sitting at 2.1 million copies sold. What the crap?

The best selling Resident Evil is the 5th, released this year for Xbox 360 and PS3. Combined, it has moved 5 million copies.
