A retail version of the PlayStation Network version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 exists. A Capcom-Unity moderator recently pointed out the above image of the retail redemption (box or card) for the game has been posted on Capcom’s white board.

Rumors of a Marvel vs. Capcom 2 retail bundle have been swirling since late June when a GameStop listing surfaced. The listing was pulled shortly after it was discovered, but not before others could scribble down the details. Priced at $19.99 and exclusive to the PlayStation 3, the alleged bundle consists of a download code for MvC 2, a DVD filled with various bits of artwork, an eight-page manual with moves list, a one-month subscription to Marvel Digital Comics, and 2000 Capcom-Unity points intended for use for prizes and auctions.

The listing dated the bundle for August 13th, which didn’t jive at the time. Capcom expected the downloadable fighting title to hit Playstation Network on June 29th. Capcom has since confirmed an August 13 launch date, the same day the once-supposed bundle was listed to hit in June.

The text on the bottom right-hand side of the image offers a clue to the validity of the periphery items. When sharpened, we were able to pick out that it is indeed the offer for the one-month subscription to Marvel Digital Comics.

We’ve checked with Capcom for official word on the rest of the items. We’ll let you know when we get a response.

[Thanks, DiJoka!]
