Tickets to BlizzCon 2009 sold out in eight minutes

Blizzard fans are a dedicated bunch with lightning-fast fingers. Nothing proves that point any better than this recent fact Big Download learned while listening to the Activision-Blizzard conference call: 20,000 tickets to BlizzCon 2009 were purchased in eight minutes. You can’t even nuke a potato that fast.

One caveat to this insanity: tickets to the two-day event were sold on two separate days. Like Big Download, we’re assuming the 20k ticket sales is the total sold over the two days, which makes this seem even more bananas. Eight minutes, man. Eight.

Perhaps dedicated isn’t the right word to describe Blizzard fans. Ravenous seems better now, eh?
