Manor Lords officially released into Early Access on April 26, and while it is included in a Game Pass for PC subscription, some players are having trouble accessing the title for free. If you’re having that issue, here is how to fix Manor Lords not showing up for free on PC Game Pass.
How to play Manor Lords for free on PC Game Pass
In order to fix Manor Lords not showing up as free on PC Game Pass, first make sure you have an active Game Pass subscription. The game will show as available for you if you’ve ever had a subscription, but will not let you play it for free if you do not have an active one. If you’ve confirmed your subscription is in fact active, but it’s still not letting you play, here is what you do to play Manor Lords for free on PC Game Pass:
- Close down the Xbox app. Open Task Manager and make sure it’s not running. If it is, end the Process.
- Make sure you don’t have the Microsoft Store open, either.
- Launch the Xbox App in Administrator mode.
- On the left click Game Pass then you should see Manor Lords at the top. Click the banner for it.
- Click the green Install button! Install and play Manor Lords for free on PC Game Pass.
- If it’s still showing up as purchasable and not available for free, close the Xbox App.
- Open the Microsoft Store and search for Manor Lords.
- Click the Games tab then look for Manor Lords (Game Preview)
- Install via the green button that should say ‘Included with Game Pass’
Why is Manor Lords only available as Game Preview
For those playing on the PC Game Pass, it can be a little converting that the game shows up as Manor Lords (Game Preview). Some players think this means it’s just a demo or a limited version of Manor Lords. However, this is not the case. Game Preview is just the verbiage that Xbox uses to indicate that a title is in Early Access, not full release.
This means that despite saying Game Preview, the PC Game Pass version of Manor Lords is the same version you will get on other platforms like Steam.
