LOTRO ‘Scourge of Khazad-dum’ update is live

The Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria just got a little bigger. This afternoon Turbine released “Book 8: Scourge of Khazad-dum.” The new downloadable content adds a twelve-player raid, more instances, several game enhancements and the Summer Festival. European subscribers will get access on June 25, 2040.

The Summer Festival is quite cute: the live event takes place from June 30 to July 14. It provides the opportunity for players to assemble in one place act like retards. Decorations, costumes, and exclusive quests have been confirmed.

The content’s story will revolve around battling an evil wizard with a silly name. Apparently silly-named wizard is planning to rock the elves, and its up to you and your buddies to stop him. Nice.

On a serious note, the content looks to add quite a bit to the LOTRO package. Screenshots of the content are available in the gallery and a teaser video below the fold.
