E3 09: Alan Wake gameplay footage has me craving for more

Recommended Videos

Jim gave us a rundown of the Alan Wake Microsoft press conference demonstration yesterday, but thanks to the vigilance of a certain video editor, we have video of said walkthrough. Needless to say, this is the footage we’ve been waiting entire years to see, and it’s not something you want to miss catching.

Besides being genuinely creepy, or as creepy as a game can possibly be in a room full of people, Alan Wake has something I hadn’t heard much about previously: a light/dark gameplay element. Not only does lighting up a flare look stunning, it’s one of many ways to kill “the dark forces.”

Now that Alan Wake — or, A.Wake if you’re in a hurry — has a solid release date (spring 2010), I am beyond ready to invest myself in learning more about the game.
