New engine and young blood confirmed for MGS Rising

Most of us out there were solid on Metal Gear Solid Rising when we saw that the subheader was Lightning Bolt Action. Any game that can combine two things so awesome like lightning bolts and action has got to be worth our while. In case you still need more convincing you should also know that Kojima Productions is creating the engine for the game from scratch and is hoping to make it look better than MGS4.

In a recent episode of the Kojima Production’s podcast the show’s host, Sean Eyestone said, “We’re redoing the engine from scratch, and it’s going to look amazing. It’s going to be a big project like Metal Gear Solid 4. The entire team is serious about making it look as good as possible on every platform.”

That team doesn’t involve Kojima so much, as he is busy at work on MGS Peacewalker. It is comprised of “young blood,” as Eyestone put it and that young blood will be taking the series to a whole new level. Bold claims, but if it does turn out that the team can make a solid MGS title it’s good news for Kojima who can finally leave the series for something else.
