Young Villain Academy looks like a must have for my iPhone

Recommended Videos

I rely on my iPhone for portable tower defense and casual options, but I have to admit I don’t really go digging through the app store for really unique looking titles very often. Thankfully, this one came to me in my inbox this morning, and my interest was instantly piqued. Listen to this:

In the world of Young Villain Academy, players take on the role of an unwilling student of a once legendary super villain. To complete their lessons, students must successfully perform in a variety of dangerous trials using rhythm style game mechanics. As they progress through the cinematic levels, the student and world act as the timing indicator for the music. The basis for much of the art, audio and game pay homage to classic 50’s style, but use modern technology and dark humour to give a unique look & feel.

Uh … seriously? Supervillains, fifties-inspired style and rhythm game mechanics? You just described what sounds like it could be the best iPhone game ever. Of all time. Created by a Montreal-based company called Trapdoor, Young Villain Academy just shot straight to the top of my do want list. The game is slated for release this summer, but that’s all we know for now. We’ll bring you more on this interesting little title as it develops!
