Assault on Dark Athena goes gold, we celebrate with assets

Finally — I was getting worried. Today, Atari announced that Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena hit gold status. Gold is a magical thing; I don’t like it when a game’s release date changes. (I’m looking at you, Sacred 2.)

Atari also released four more sexy screenshots of the game today. Just for kicks, we added two trailers below the fold. The first one is a new Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay teaser. The second is a lengthy and moody trailer for the Dark Athena portion of the game. It sheds some light on the drone soldier, an enemy that Riddick calls “some unholy fusion between flesh and technology.”

Assault on Dark Athena smacks retail in its mouth on April 7.
