Seriously, that’s pretty much all the information available.
According to the latest Nintendo Power, a reinvention of the classic NES oddity will be making its way to the Wii sometime in the future. When, exactly? Not sure. Will it be a remake or a revitalized version of the canceled 2005 Nintendo DS sequel? Sadly, that’s unknown. Will it be released on a disc or directly to WiiWare? Um, I have no idea!
All Nintendo sent out is the above tantalizing image and a very pixelated scan of the article itself. I included the scan in the gallery, but don’t get too excited: you really can’t see much of anything. From what I can make out, it looks like there will be a boy in the game. And a blob. And a moon. And maybe a … tree? Oh, it doesn’t matter: A NEW BOY AND HIS BLOB GAME IS CONFIRMED FOR THE WII!

[UPDATE: I just saw an un-pixelated version of the Nintendo Power article (which hints that the game is a straight-up remake), and let me just say this: wow. The game looks jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Sadly, I can’t legally post the image, but … be prepared.]
