One of the most adorable things in gaming is the baby chocobo in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. It beams up at you with its charming smile. It’s also incredibly helpful as it leads you to fast travel points around the open world. So, naturally, we have to know if the little bird can be pet in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
Is it possible to pet the baby chocobo in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?
With all of this little chocobo’s hard work, I’m happy to report that you can indeed pet the chocobo in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. As shown in ARUUU’s YouTube video (via Can You Pet the Dog), you can pet it after it helps you find a fast travel point and lift up the sign. It kind of looks like a bus stop with a bench that Cloud can sit on.
When you pet it, it will smile up at Cloud. “Once you lift it up, you can pet them, which is amazing, and we love that,” said ARUUU during the preview video. “Any animal we get to pet, especially a baby chocobo makes me so, so happy.”
Is there fast travel in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?
ARUUU also shows the fast travel system in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Interact with the chocobo stop, and you’ll be brought to the world map. You can choose your destination and decide whether or not to travel by foot or by chocobo. “That’s a nice little way to get around the map, and it makes it really convenient for exploring and all that good stuff,” ARUUU explained.
You’ll be able to pet the baby chocobo and hopefully more animals when Final Fantasy VII Rebirth releases on February 29, 2024, for the PS5. You might not want to pet a cactuar, however.
Unfortunately, Vincent won’t be a playable character at least during the game’s release. Also, the collector’s edition regrettably doesn’t have a plush of this adorable baby chocobo.
