Killzone 2 demo hits PSN February 26, some shaky cam footage to tide you over

Speaking with MTV Multiplayer, Sony’s Scott Steinberg has confirmed that a demo for Killzone 2 will hit the PlayStation Network on February 26. Yes, that’s one day before the game’s February 27 release.

Of course, if you’re not patient, you could always reserve the game. Retailers like GameStop are offering earlier demo access to those who pre-order. So ask yourself, what’s it worth to you? GameStop only requires a five-dollar deposit, which is fully refundable (if you can deal with a potential barrage of questions upon reservation cancellation). So if you’re not sure if this game is the real deal and worth your $59.99, you’ve got nothing to lose.

That shaky cam footage up there is of me playing Killzone 2 (rather poorly) at CES. Visually, I can confirm that the game is indeed the “real deal.” It’s pretty shocking how substantial the world feels and looks, with some pretty damned impressive visual effects that are going to turn some heads.

Is it what Sony teased at E3 so many years ago? Not quite, but you’d have to be a blind PS3 hater to not concede that Killzone 2 is looking damn good.
