Harmonix is looking to make iPhone games

Good. I’m glad. Just skip the Rock Band business. There’s enough of that everywhere else. [Don’t kill me, Nick]

“Believe me, we’re looking at the iPhone,” Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos tells Ars Technica in an interview.

“If we take a stop on that platform, we want to do it right, so we’re thinking about the specific attributes of the iPhone so we can make it the right step where we can make the product that’s the right product for that platform.”

As to what they’ll do for the platform, that’s still up in the air. It seems that the old iPod game Phase is due for a port, but Harmonix hopes to do something bigger.

“I’m wondering if there isn’t something that’s more ambitious that we could do as well. I don’t think we have any specific plans there yet, but needless to say, we’re looking at it.”

We’re looking forward to what you’ll do on the iPhone, Harmonix.
