Wet screens ironically have severe lack of liquid

A few new screenshots have been released for A2M’s action game, Wet. The company providing the screens isn’t A2M or a publisher. They come from the Swedish rendering studio Illuminate Labs, who have also worked on several modern games like Mirror’s Edge, Tomb Raider Underworld and Killzone 2.

These screens don’t reveal anything significant about Wet, other than that the protagonist (Rubi) likes shooting things in mid-air, which is consistent with previous footage of the game that portrays her as an acrobatic killer able to take out a group of enemies with a couple of revolvers and a ninja sword. The action is gratuitous — just the way we like it.

There’s a hitch, though. The game is slated to hit the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at some point this year, but it no longer has a publisher. Wet is one of the victims of Activision Blizzard’s acquisition of Vivendi Games, which put Ghostbusters, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena and Brütal Legend on the street.

Hopefully, we’ll soon be able to report that Wet has found a home, just like all the other aforementioned titles.
