Rock Band getting ‘Rockin’ the Holidays 2008′ downloadable track pack next week

Recommended Videos

After complaining about the lack of holiday songs in music games, Harmonix and MTV Games have revealed to MTV Multiplayer that next week’s Rock Band update will fill that gaping hole.

The “Rockin’ the Holidays 2008” track pack will include three songs — “Hanukkah Blessings” by Barenaked Ladies, “Christmas Is The Time To Say I Love You,” by Billy Squier, and The Prentenders’ cover of “Blue Christmas.” The pack will be available on December 23, just in time for Christmas; although MTV Multiplayer doesn’t mention any pricing, something tells me it’s not going to be free … although this is the season for giving, guys.

Considering how everyone reacted to this week’s country song releases, I can only imagine the backlash Harmonix/MTV Games is going to have to deal with over holiday songs.

[Update: The songs will cost 80 Microsoft Points each (or $1 on PSN) or 240 Microsoft Points (or $3) for the full pack.]
