As if the MMORPG scene wasn’t already overcrowded, here comes Disney to exemplify the problem of the genre. Ladies and gentlemen, Disney Fantasy Online is on the way!
It’s basically World of Warcraft but with Disney shoehorned into it, from the sounds of things. Players complete quests, level up, gain items, all that business. Established characters like Mickey Mouse and his anthropomorphic chums will appear as NPCs. Combat will actually represented with turn-based battles and players will be able to build their own castles.
MMOs will be getting just a little more stupid in Spring 2009.
