Animal Boxing is a game where you box animals, we have the trailer to prove it

I couldn’t tell you if Destineer’s upcoming Nintendo DS title Animal Boxing is going to be any good. Honestly, all of my instincts tell me “No.” But my heart screams “yes,” if only for the fact that Animal Boxing is exactly what it advertises to be — a game where animals put on gloves and box.

The trailer makes the game out to look a bit like Nintendo’s Punch-Out!! arcade title, putting players in control over disembodied boxing gloves as they pummel billy goats, alligators, zebras, and more. How anyone could resist, I’ll never know.

It also looks like animal boxing will feature an unprecedented number of boxing animals. Destineer have passed along 48 images, each detailing a different animal. Not only does Animal Boxing have more boxers than both Electronic Arts’ Fight Night and Punch-Out!! combined, but they’re all freakin’ animals.

And no, King Hippo does not count.
