Wii Music’s song list will include everything from Beethoven to Madonna

Perhaps the only news from Nintendo’s explosive set of press conferences in Tokyo and San Francisco not to generate extreme excitement was Wii Music-related, a game which all of zero of the game journos I know are looking forward to. Crabby opinions aside, Miyamoto has enough enthusiasm about this title to make up for everyone else that lacks it.

The actual songs of Wii Music were actually mentioned for the first time in the US press conference, including classical music (Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy,”) and pop standards like Madonna’s “Material Girl” and “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” (YES I LOVE WHAM!). Nintendo standards like the Super Mario Bros.® theme and the Zelda theme were also mentioned.

Admittedly, some of these songs are cool, but I’m still not sold on this game. I do think I would probably play it at a friend’s house and likely have fun with it, though. What do you think — want it yet?
