LittleBigBeta for LittleBigPlanet this month

A person on the official PlayStation forums who parades around as an SCEA developer recently unveiled that LittleBigPlanet will have a limited beta this September. According to the post the beta will be public and people will be told about the beta before it begins. Other details like how the test will be ran or how large the download is are unknown at this time. Here’s what the developer, “Sam_Protagonist,” had to say about it:

There will be a limited public beta test for LittleBigPlanet in September. If it will be possible to “sign up” for this test, full information on how to do so will be made public in advance of the test. Similarly if the test is going to be conducted in an invitation-only we will let you know ahead of time.

We’ve been promised some sort of beta for a long time now. Initially, it was pitched as an opportunity to provide extra levels for consumers, but it appears as if the goal has been narrowed down to network performance. Which, by the way, is absolutely fine with me Sony. I love you, and I love LittleBigPlanet.

If you’re wondering why exactly I drew that excellent rendition of my desire to play the LBP demo, it’s because I wanted to grab the attention of a very important person at Sony. I’ve yet to breach the wall that has been erected against early entries into the beta, but a man has to try.
