Pure demo speeding to PSN and XBL this September

Good news for fans of things with four wheels and dirt: Disney Interactive has announced that a demo for their upcoming off-road racer, Pure, will be coming to Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network this September. But if you’re not willing to wait, a pre-order demo disc will be available at several major retailers starting tomorrow, August 15.

We got our hands on the demo last week, which offers up a tutorial and one complete track from the game’s Italy setting. The game is pretty gorgeous, with an art style that sits somewhere between photo-realistic and watercolor painting. Controls are pretty standard and feel nice; the right stick is used to “pre-load” jumps, and a progressive meter that fills up allowing for different types of tricks.

Be sure to check out Dale North’s E3 preview of Pure — it’s all the guy was talking about the day he saw it. So, are you patient enough to wait for the demo in September, or are you hauling ass down to your local game shop tomorrow to put in your pre-order?

Pure ships for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 16.
